I recently took a trip to visit my family. My grandmother, known to us as ‘Nana’, and my grandfather, ‘Papa’, have taken up residence with my parents. Nana’s mind isn’t what it used to be. Retrieving things from her mind, takes a bit longer. Somethings, they seem to have slipped out all together. Every once in awhile, I catch her staring off into other worlds. I wonder where she is visiting. We all have Nanas in our lives. We also know that one day we too will be a Nana or a Papa or just some random old person. I guess then we will know of these far off places.
Hopefully we will have a family to love us and keep us, like your Nana does. 🙂
I think I’m going to be just a random old person. (Since we have no kids to put up with us when we get old.) But on the bright side, at least we will not be a burden to a loved one. 👍🏻
OMG, I’m probably going to be such a burden to my boys. I can only hope for them that I’ll be an interesting and entertaining burden for as long as possible.
Time has a way of being fleeting. Enjoy your nana and papa as much as possible, and your parents as well. I do hope, though, these far off places are interesting. 🙂
I’ve been visiting those far off places since I was a boy. Some of them are very pleasant.
Love this Seth– I’m inching up toward Nana age– and it’s heartening to hear someone younger love and respect someone there.
Thank you.
I can appreciate the sentiment of this post very much!
