The bees are back in force.  They flew in for the queen this summer with pollen on their minds.  Welcome back bees.  Please keep your stingers to yourselves.

  1. As a small child I waited for bumble bees to go down inside daffodils and then pinched the flower closed to put the bee into a quart jar with a lid. I took the jar of a dozen buzzing bees into my grandmother’s kitchen and scared the daylights out of her. What does a silly child know… 😀

  2. Carpenter bee! At least I think so. They are a bit bigger than our bumble bees and have shiny (instead of fuzzy) abdomens. If I am right, they don’t have a queen. Each one is its own bee! ^_^
