Dreamers fill me up!

I’m a dreamer.  I’ve always been.  In the past I’ve bulldozed forward, demolishing all in my path, to attain my dreams.  In the process, I’ve listened little to doubt casters and caution throwers.  I’ve achieved many of my dreams but I’ve also fallen short.  Falling short seems to be the new norm for me and as a result, I’ve become a bit skittish.   I’ve a new dream and I bet you can guess what it is.  However, I am quite afraid of taking that first step toward realizing this dream.  My doubts and caution pail is flowing over but my encouragement pail has very little to balance out the other side.  I need all of you dreamers out there to send me some encouragement.  Fill-er-up.

  1. Consider yourself encouraged!!
Having survived two very rough days I’m back in ‘all things are possible mode.’ I have not been able to write for nearly two weeks and today I have written two good stories. All is now right with the world.
    Be encouraged my talented friend.

    • I wish. I’ve never actually been to a Bengals game. I’m more of a college fan. I do follow a bit of the NFL but never in person. I would like to sometime.

  2. Seth, look at it this way, in pursuing your dream you have nothing to lose. You are your worst critic. I have followed your pictures for more than a year. They’re inspiring of a place I will probably never visit. keep going your audience wants to see what will come next mx

    • Thanks. I thought that was a hawk. I saw one the other day a few feet away in an intersection next to Interstate 71(busy road). It had caught it a bird and was feasting. It didn’t seem to mind the thousands of cars a few feet away.

  3. Amazing pics!

Everyone should be a dreamer, because dreams are free, they only need time and willpower. In my opinion are more important the falling shorts than the achievements, because without a fall you cannot understand how far have u gone.

I wish you a Happy New Year.
Thank you for your beautiful posts.

  4. First take care of yourself physically, mentally, and spiritually. Meditation and yoga really helped me. Then you will feel you can do anything. Next, come up with your goals. Finally, a plan on how to get there. Don’t ask family or friends – just do it. After selling real estate for 12 years, I started a travel company for families and love the work I do.

  5. Seth, I love your photographic perspective on God’s beautiful scenery…it’s always scary when He puts it in our hearts to go to the next level…take Him with you there…and all is possible! He has given you a great eye…so you can certainly trust Him to use it well!! God Bless!

  6. You know what would be awesome – to buy digital version of your photos as screen savers. Is that possible? Love your work so much, keep the dream alive :0)

    • Catherine, you can buy digital versions of my photos at my photo shelter.com site. I’m not sure how to make them as a screensaver. I know you can make them as wallpaper. Maybe more techy person on here would

  7. Dream big dreams and believe in your talent, but do your homework too. The reality of the photography business, it seems, is that it’s a tough, competitive marketplace, full of folks capturing thousands of images each day. What do you want to do that will set your images apart from those of other people? Do you want to specialize in one area of photography? Can you grow a business slowly or are you looking to jump into it full-time? Your images are inspirational and you have a knack for capturing unique perspectives.Dream on and act boldly, but let the boldness be tempered by a healthy dose of reality (or maybe a business plan). Best wishes for a wonderful 2014.

  8. Stepping off into the water is the hardest part. Go for it! As much as people have gotten into buying their own cameras they lack the ability to understand its not the technology that takes a great photo. I still find so many friends hiring for events and family photos because they see this in their pics.

  9. “Surround yourself with the dreamers and the doers, the thinkers and the believers, but most of all, surround yourself with those who see the greatness in you when you can’t see it in yourself.” Sounds like you are on the right path! 🙂

  10. Seth, I’ve enjoyed your photos, too, and you have an added touch – with your writing. Nice combo. If you’re thinking of starting your own business, I have two words of advice – do it! I have my own business and while it’s tons of work, I’m so happy working on it! Plus, as time goes by, I’m able to come up with additional ideas that all add together to make it more and more successful, and that’s what you have…creativity! I wish you the best!

  11. I’ve missed not being able to see your beautiful photos! Never lose Hope, if you never actually TRIED to do it, you’d always wonder what would have happened if you did! Sending positive, encouraging thoughts and prayers your way! 😀

  12. Seth, you have the talent and the know how to accomplish any dream you set your mind too, so go for it. What do you have to lose? At the end of your life, will you regret your decision if you don’t, at the very least, give it a fair shot, especially when you have so much talent to share with the world. Follow your dreams and never give up!

  13. Hi Seth I don’t think its a coincidence that yesterday, when you wrote this post, I received your calendar all the way over here in the UK. It’s fabulous. So I say go for it, that’s what we’re here for. Thank you.
