Tennis break

Let’s take a quick break from the awesomeness that is Cincinnati and enjoy a few tennis shots from the Western & Southern Open in Mason, Ohio.  Each year, all the tennis stars come to these parts to swat it out. Todd and I spent a few hours last weekend enjoying a couple of qualifier rounds.

Stretch.

Stretch.

Heading your way.

The delicate form.

In the air.

Wait for it.

Did he make it?

Refilling, refueling.

After serve remorse.

Heat is coming.

After effect.

Our view.

    • Because it was early morning qualifiers and they have lots of activities inside the complex. They have several courts. It’s full when the big dogs play.

      • Okay, understandable – I love tennis …. great sport to watch – we had some great players too through the years that made it even more exciting to watch.

      • I think the time when Björn Borg was playing there was some fantastic players … tennis was pure entertainment those days. Today is just the sport .. not much else happens on the court.

  1. That was fun! I enjoy watching tennis. Cute to me that you made a black and white of the girl hiitting with tiny little orange shoes inconsp icuous at the base of the picture.

  2. Great photos – I have been watching from the comfort of my den at Casa de Canterbury with The Red Man and his pack. We love tennis!! Alas, we have to rely on our photos via our television so we much prefer the shots of your actually being there!! 🙂

  3. My favorite is the third from the bottom. The way the racket aligned with the logo in the background it made for a nice effect, kind of like you caught the motion and the swishing effect. These photos are really awesome, looks like they were plucked off espn!

  4. Anita and I watched a fair amount of the Toronto Rogers Cup. She owns one season ticket and our youngest daughter owns the one beside it. Being cheeky, I went down and sat in the photographers’ area with my little Sony NEX 5N and its 55-205? zoom during a fairly quiet moment. Got some fun shots. Only one other photographer there at the time. Sloane Stephens was playing Berthel, I think. Watched Serena demolish Cirstea in the final. The Romanian fans were a hoot!
