Roger the cardinal was enjoying his early afternoon banter with friend Johan when he noticed something strange. It was an odd looking bird, a quite large bird, a big bird. And this big bird was snapping pictures of him. “How dare he.” Thought Roger. If Roger were a big bird himself, he might have flogged this peeping tom. But, alas, he is a small, though quite handsome, flyer. And with that thought, he flew away.
what a beautiful colour!
Yes, he is a pretty bird. We have lots of cardinals here.
My very favorite bird!
We have lots of them around here. They love to jump from the ground to shrubs or trees when you are driving along a country road. You’ll see flashes of red here and there.
Gorgeous! I’ve been seeing some cardinals around here in Austin, too. Thanks for sharing (:
Thanks Jonathan. They are lovely birds.
Very cute
Thanks.

Yes he is. Thanks Lisa.
The first one is my favourite. So bright, great colour– love them. The bird is perfectly in focus.
👀👀thanks.
Nice photos that big bird took, he did, he did. I miss cardinals so much! We have lots of cool birds, like the dipper, but none so handsome as Roger.
Thanks. 😎😎they are beauties.
I really adore your photos! you’re so talented!
😎😎thanks.
What a handsome gentleman 🙂 great shot!
Thx 😎😎
Well Roger that peeping Tom, giant big bird…whatever…
🙂
I love that you have a cardinal named Roger. We have a large hawk that lives in our field that we’ve named Roger. 🙂 (The cardinals are still unnamed — they haven’t “shared” that with us yet).
Kenley
Roger is universal. 😉 Thanks Kenley.
Indeed it is! 🙂 Oh…and we just named one of the cardinals last night. Discovered when got close up that he had a Mohawk….so he is Iggy (after Iggy Pop).
Ha I can see that.
I enjoy the world you see in the lives of the wilderness around you
Thanks. glad! 🙂
I get that a lot when I take pictures of birds. For some reason they just don’t like the press.
🙂 Indeed they don’t
I can never get the birds to sit still for me. Whenever I go to take the picture, they fly away! Great job what a beautiful bird.
Yes they are watching you, waiting for you… and then bam..off they go.

We have lots of cardinals here. I don’t know what their names are. But I like watching the baby ones when they first come out of their nests. I’m not very good with a camera though. It’s nice that you share your world.
Nice, Love the cardinals. 🙂

We don’t have anything that red around here (in the UK) – he looks great!
