   • Ally- That is actually a plane that was crossing in front of the moon when I took the shots. I don’t know if folks have noticed that or not. You are the first.

12. Great pics. I’ve always found it really difficult to get good pics of the moon, they never turn out as nice on the picture as the moon was in the sky. But these are brilliant!

24. These are beautiful. We observed the moon over the weekend in upstate New York. It left moon shadows on the snow. So beautiful.

42. Cool! I’ve not really tried lunar photography yet… what set up do you use?

    • Nikon D3100– for the close ups I used my Tameron 55mm-300mm on 300mm. On the 300mm, I use a fast shutter to get the detail of the moon.(too long of a shutter and the moon is too bright). I used a tripod and remote shutter release.
