Driving home this morning, I could overhear the scenery whispering about the upcoming holiday. The trees adorned with lights were standing up tall and proud, singing Christmas songs accompanied by the wind. The old majestic homes of Lebanon, rejuvenated with their decorations , felt like presents ready to be opened. The roads, dressed in their white Christmas tuxedos, wished me a happy holiday season as I drove along. Even the barn cat was out and about preparing for his Noel feast. How is your scenery preparing for the upcoming holiday?
sigh…I really love the painted brick…
Yellow Springs. Wow you are not too far from me. I need to drive back up that way and take some pictures of the town. Thanks for your visit.
LOVE the Orient/Fireco one!
Yes, they are sprucing it up. Neat old firehouse.
What beautiful scenery Seth! Merry Christmas.
Angeline, thanks so much. 🙂 Merry Christmas.
These are wonderful photos. It is quite hard to choose a favourite but I would have to go for the first one of the cat by the barn door. Merry Christmas, Seth!
Mark. Merry Christmas to you as well. Thanks for your visit and kind words.
Yes, the kitty contrast is pretty spectacular. Nice pics!
Thank you. 🙂
Love the cat!!!
It’s a cute cat.
I adore cats, and dogs, and horses..ohhh I just adore all animals LOL even the human variety
AW i love the kitty picture! SO cute. Cats don’t like me for some reason though. I love them but they just dont like me. Dogs on the other hand always run to me. Oh, maybe that’s why cats dont like me lol.
maybe… 🙂 I think cats are persnickety in general.
Reblogged this on Be Happy. Be Cool. Be Wise! and commented:

Another lovely series, captures the local spirit well
David, Thanks. I am glad you like them. How is your scenery over there in the UK? Does it put you in the mood for Christmas?
in one word NO….it has rained for the past week, dark and grey. Some sun promised for later today. But Christmas is what you make it…..have a good one.
Very true. Have a good one. 🙂
Seth: Your the perfect example, which everyone of us should follow, always carry a camera with you. I particularly like the closeup of the cat at the barn door…Way to go!
Thanks. Yes, sometimes people think I am crazy with my camera.
Wow! Your pics are amazing! I’m falling in love the way you take these pictures. Well, I’m not a photographer, but they’re so beautiful.
Andinho, wow, thanks so much. 🙂
It would be difficult to pick a favorite from these jewels, each on incredibily beautiful, but I have a speclal place for the little kitty seeking shelter from the snow. Great pictures!
Yes, that is a cute barn cat. 🙂 Thanks.
Great pictures! I especially like the last two ones, with the cat looking out of the door.
Thanks for your comment on my blog, and a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year to you,
Pit
Thanks so much. Glad you like those. 🙂
nice wintery shots but the barn cat steals the show. Dunno, is it the color contrast, size – the doors are so large and the cat looks so small? *shrug* it’s a great shot.
Maria, thanks so much.
I’m glad you heard their whispers and shared it with us … 🙂
You are welcome and thanks. I am glad I can share.
Beautiful and inspiring! The firehouse and cat are favorites but all very nice and perfect to stare at while drinking coffee in my cozy jammies…Merry Christmas!
Merry Christmas. Thanks so much!
Wonderful…love how you put it into words. The pictures were beautiful too!
Thanks. Glad you like my, as my friend put it, “cheesy but cute” words. 🙂
Not cheesy in the least.. love it. The kind of stuff I think but don’t put into words.. or rarely do.. and not so eloquently.
Your photographs are stunning – I’m always so impressed by your work!

That cat is utterly adorabe, and great last pic of it close up! It’s giving you one of those, “don’t you snap my pictures!” looks. 😀

The cat! So cute!
Love the color contrast and the simple beauty of black & white – great shots.
