Blah, bland but beautiful

Today was a blah day in Ohio.  It rained, rained and rained some more.  The sky was a dull grey.  Not even the storms could muster up anything interesting and exciting.  But, upon closer look, it was a beautiful day non the less.  The wet leaves of the evergreens seemed to sparkle while moving in unison with the wind.  The barren trees also had a bit of sparkle from the drips of rain that hung on to each limb for dear life.  The river seemed pleased at its new found strength.  The empty deserted fields seemed to be happy, cleaned after a good shower.  And the old tree, seemed to sing out in praise for it’s last bit of water before the long hard freeze.

  1. We get days like that here at this time of the year….but what a great description in two words a ‘Blah Day’. I hope you haven’t copyrighted it as I might just use it sometime! Best wishes

  2. I love how colour isolation defines details in such a unique way that it can change the whole mood of the shot. Beautiful . My fav is ‘wet fingers’. It has an almost abstract quality that is intriguing.

  3. grey and dull, gives a lull makes us feel..the silent peace, and as it flows the rain overflow..over the land and river, finally it ends and we find small last droplets falling lastly from the branches of tree, colors appear in bits..red and green with blue as a backdrop by the sky, that is clear to see..

  4. I like all of them, but the Yellow with Age is really nice! Not blah, that must have just been the weather.. LOL Lovely pictures…

  5. Wonderful photos. I was driving up the highway this morning, and the lighting was very interesting, it was grey, sunny and foggy all at the same time. Wishing I had my camera and attempted to try to capture the light. Looking at your photo’s I can see the potential in a grey day, next time I hope I have my camera.

  6. Hi Seth,
What a poet you are at heart :).
Each day has the potential for beauty and joy through the little things.
I am loving the dashes of color and the lines drawn by needles, leaves or branches. Simple beauty.
    Happy Monday.

  7. I love rainy days which is a good thing here in the northwest, so your gray photos make me smile. Since the work you do is so beautiful, I get to smile twice at these. I particularly like the magical tree. Thank you for a lovely start to the week.

  8. Your pictures are stunning, and the language you use to express them is equally illustrious which I like a lot.
P.S. Thanks for your visit the other week 🙂

  9. There is nothing more annoying than a storm who is dark and looming in the distance but when it finally creeps over your house it drizzles and dissipates. It’s like a bad lover! LOL
