The battle for hot and cold that rages this time of year often creates excellent photo opportunities. Yesterday morning, I took this quick shot of steam rising off a local pond. Also, if you look really close, you can see the frosty crops in the distance.

I like the foggy steam coming off the lake. The yellow fall leaves of the tree on the left adds to this photo. A very pretty picture.

I like it very much! I did have one comment, however. I think you may want to consider cropping to even out the horizon. I can feel the chill in the air just looking at the picture!

The tree is such a stark contrast to the rest of the picture, it’s interesting. The tree stops this picture from looking all dooms day scary.
Thanks dietriotgirl. I hadn’t thought about it that way. I was just driving by and I thought, wow, cool pic. I stopped the car in the middle of the road and took the shot. Luckily, it isnt a busy road!

I have to tell you: when the email arrived announcing your post, I did a double take. Knowing how the letters “r” and “n” together (“rn”) can resemble an “m” at a distance, I thought your post’s title was “cool steamy *mom*” (emphasis mine).
My first thought was–“Hmmmm, really? This will be different!”
