Clouds are sometimes the photographer’s best friend. Clouds can make a normal scene exciting and an already exciting scene outstanding.
One of my favorite times to take shots is just before storms. The massive clouds of storms can make a fabulous backdrop.
Take this cemetery photo. The massive cloud makes this photo much more interesting. So when storms are in the forecast, hide your wife, hide your kids but grab your camera.

Amazing!
Thank you!
Awesome stones in this shot too. Where is this cemetery?
Oh, um….Caption under photo….got it. š lol
Thanks for the comment. I thought the cemetery had a lot of character.
Definitely! I kind of have a thing for cool cemetery shots. My favorite fun ones I got to take are posted under ‘Elk in the Cemetary’ which you can find by searching ‘elk’ near the bottom of my home page if your interested. Kind of quirky…not as beautiful and dramatic as the clouds, but definitely added interest. š
Those are cool. I love the Elk in the Cemetery.
I am a cloud lover too. When I lived in Melbourne or am in other cities they are my most immediate connection to nature. Thanks for visiting me. I look forward to following and learning from you.
Thanks Sabrina!
Great photos (and clouds)!
Thanks šš
GAAAAAAAAH! I love clouds! I did a whole project on them. Please take more cloud pictures. Now I have to scour your site to see if you have any adoring the moon š
Jasmine. Thanks so much.
I’ve never really taken many photos in the sun because I’ve read about how a lot of clouds or cloudy days make for more flattering portraits- but they also take away contrast. I’m more inspired now to shoot in the daylight š thanks so much ^.^
Thanks. š Glad I inspired you. š
